Lauren Lazar Stern offers students an individualized, multi-dimensional treatment approach, which focuses on the emotional, physical, and psychological well being of each individual client. She not only works on symptom reduction, but also helps each individual to understand the underlying conflicts that cause the symptoms. When helpful, Lauren incorporates art therapy and journaling to assist in the process of self-actualization. Individual and group sessions are available.
Lauren utilizes a treatment-team approach working with nutritionists, psychiatrists, PCPs and on-campus student health centers. Family participation is encouraged when helpful. Lauren will form new groups according to the needs of her clients.
Lauren's background includes work on in-patient university hospital units, outpatient and partial hospitalization clinics, and lecturing at universities and at high schools. She trained at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, and at the Hampstead Child Therapy Clinic in London under the direction of Anna Freud.
