I am a Board-certified art psychotherapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have been treating all types of eating disorders since 1989.  I can help you get to the root of your problems and seek answers to them.

I offer students an individualized, multi-dimensional treatment approach which focuses on the emotional, physical, and psychological well-being of each individual client.  I not only work on symptom reduction, but I also help each individual to understand the underlying conflicts that cause the symptoms.  When helpful, I incorporate art therapy and journaling to assist in the process of self-actualization.  Individual and group sessions are available.

I utilize a treatment-team approach working with nutritionists, psychiatrists, PCPs and on-campus student health centers.  Family participation is encouraged when helpful.  I form new groups according to the needs of my clients.

My background includes work on in-patient university hospital units, out-patient and partial hospitalization clinics, and lecturing at universities and at high schools.  I trained at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, and at the Hampstead Child Therapy Clinic in London under the direction of Anna Freud.

My office is located in the heart of Oakland and is convenient to the university community and hospitals.
