Way to go Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins! • Second only to New York’s Broadway for its number of theaters, the Cultural District boasts more than 20 art venues. • The emoticon was invented in Pittsburgh in 1980 by Carnegie Mellon University computer scientist Scott Fahlma • The oldest-known site of human habitation in North America is located just south of Pittsburgh at Meadowcroft Rockshelter. • Pittsburgh Brewing Company (now Iron City Brewery) introduced the first pull-tab cans in 1962. • Mt. Washington was named the second most beautiful view in the United States by USA Today. • Pittsburgh is famous for its two inclined planes on Mount Washington, but at one point, there were as many as 15 inclines in the city. • The Andy Warhol Museum is the largest single-artist museum in North America.
